The fresh fruits of this tree store well, providing a good supply even until late winter. This fruit has a sharp, cox-like flavour, and heavy crops are produced and ripen in October. The foliage turns a beautiful orange-red in Autumn, contrasting and complementing the yellow-red fruits, which are marvellous eaten fresh, and also good in pies and crumbles. ‘Jupiter’ has been awarded the Award of Garden Merit given by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), which helps gardeners make informed choices about plants.
