Heavy cropping variety with excellent disease resistance
‘Ben Connan’ is a very heavy cropping modern Scottish variety. This compact bush bears glossy fruits of delicious flavour which have excellent disease resistance. The blackcurrants can be used to give a rich tart flavour, and are also delicious as a purée with yoghurt or ice cream. They can even be used in pies, jams or juices. These fruits freeze very well if you would like to keep some for future use. Late-blooming, from July to August.
